About

Dataware builds Hardware Manager, a thin single-tenant runtime that lets software drive hardware directly instead of going through a general-purpose operating system. It exposes drivers and networking protocols such as TCP through an API called qAPI, and it includes deterministic simulation testing for the applications it runs. The company targets developers and AI agents building data infrastructure in the cloud, and the runtime runs on EC2, including bare-metal instances.

It removes libc, system calls and POSIX from the path so software runs near hardware speed, and it ships deterministic simulation testing for faults like network partitions, disk faults and clock skew.

Hardware Manager

Systems runtime

A bare-metal, single-tenant runtime with drivers, networking and storage stacks exposed through the qAPI interface.

  • Direct hardware access without libc, system calls or POSIX
  • Extensible networking and storage stacks (sockets, callbacks, device queue polling)
  • X86_64 support with SIMD, SMP and NUMA, arm64 planned
