Butterfly BVM™

Medical Resuscitation DeviceSeed

The Butterfly BVM™ is a novel bag-valve-mask resuscitator designed to give medical personnel greater control and precision during CPR. It directly addresses the long-standing issue of patient hyperventilation by allowing users to set and limit the volume and pressure of air delivered, unlike traditional BVMs.

Value Proposition

This device solves the critical problem of lung injury (volutrauma and barotrauma) caused by uncontrolled air delivery during manual resuscitation. It also provides a logistical advantage to emergency medical services by replacing three different-sized devices with one adjustable unit.

Pain Points

Target customers face the risk of inadvertently causing serious lung injury or death when using traditional BVMs due to the inability to control air volume and pressure. They also face logistical challenges in managing inventory for different patient sizes.

Adjustable tidal volume to suit patients from infants to adults.Built-in pressure limitation to restrict peak inspiratory and positive-end expiratory pressures, reducing the risk of barotrauma.A single device can be used for adult, pediatric, and infant patients, simplifying inventory for emergency services.A 'concertina' design engineered for easier one-handed compression, freeing the user's other hand to maintain a proper mask seal.Functions effectively without requiring an external oxygen reservoir.
