Cyrus Biotechnology is a computationally-driven protein design company spun out of the University of Washington's Institute for Protein Design in 2014. It combines computational modeling and deep mutagenesis to engineer naturally occurring proteins into therapeutics, and originally commercialized the work as Cyrus Bench, an enterprise version of the Rosetta molecular modeling and design toolkit. Since 2021 the company has also advanced its own preclinical pipeline, including an IdeS program for IgG-driven autoimmune disease, an IL-22 variant fusion protein, and ACE2v2-Fc for acute respiratory distress syndrome. Cyrus has run computational discovery and novel-IP work for more than 30 partner firms including Janssen, Genentech, Nimbus, and Selecta.
